Sat 8 Nov 25 - Mumbai

25 - 31 Deg and hazy again, but no rain. A morning walk with Greg through back streets of Churchgate returning along the promenade started the day. The group is starting to come together with another 3 riders from the UK and Ken Uren from Canberra arriving overnight, joining us for breakfast. After a lengthy catch up, Greg and I set off to visit a museum and an art gallery. A Starbucks coffee stop on the way killed time before the advertised Museum opening time at 10:15, however, on arrival, we discovered opening was delayed due to an electrical fault. We popped across the road to an art gallery to kill more time, only to find it was also closed due to the setting up of a new exhibition. We walked a short distance to another art gallery which was thankfully open. After  a wander through the small exhibition, we returned to the Museum, but decided that we didn't want to compete with the growing crowd, and walked further in search of somewhere suitable for lunch. We eventually found an Indian restaurant at Colaba, and the food was tasty and plentiful. There seemed to be a lot more people out and about in the city today, and it felt crowded in places. After almost 15km of walking, the legs were starting to hurt, so we returned to the hotel for a much needed rest, and decided that the museum will have to wait another day. Back at the hotel after a rest, Greg, Ken, Dogan and I set off for a short walk to a bar for a couple of pints, then returned to Samrat restaurant for another wonderful, and ridiculously cheap meal. Once again, the meal was superb and service 2nd to none. We were back in our respective rooms by 08:45pm feeling very tired, but looking forward to setting up our bikes tomorrow to start the riding on Monday.

Fri 14 Nov 25 - Dapoli to Guhagar Distance: 49km | Ride Time: 2h 54m | Overnight: Guhagar (Shantadurga Beachside Home Stay) 15-31Deg and hazy, no wind Walking around Dapoli yesterday we saw a compact bustling town with a lot of stores and convenience stores, unlike other towns we've been to so far. With its nearby  beaches, historical temples, caves and forts scattered around, Dapoli  is becoming a popular tourist destination for Indians. Unfortunately we didn't see any of these sights.  The town is also known as Camp Dapoli, as the British had their military camps here. This morning  bag drag and breakfast was at 07:30am, and we rode away about 45 minutes later. Day 20: Mon 24 Nov 25 - Candolim to Mumbai (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport)

Mon 24 Nov 25 - Candolim to Mumbai (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport) Our last day in Goa before we flew back to Mumbai tonight for an overnight stay at the Niranta Transit Hotel at Mumbai International Airport. It seemed like a wasted day with all the waiting for a 3.15pm taxi to the airport, and scheduled 6.55 pm flight to Mumbai which was delayed twice.   We had a few walks to kill time at Candolim on another hot sunny and still 33 Deg day (feeling like 39 Deg), before our very bumpy 65 minute taxi ride to the Goa - Dabolim airport. We eventually checked in without too much trouble, and had one more vegetable Thali for dinner in the food court while waiting for our flight. The Indigo flight was delayed twice by an hour, and we eventually arrived in Mumbai and, afer some difficulty, eventually found the Niranta Transit Hotel  2 levels below the arrivals gate, for our very conveniently located overnight stay. Day 21: Tue 25 & 26 Nov 25 - Mumbai to Singapore to Melbourne to Canberra

Tue 25 & 26 Nov 25 - Mumbai to Singapore to Melbourne to Canberra Better late than never I suppose....Despite the very good standard of the hotel room, I had a very restless sleep - possibly due to the excitement of returning home. After getting ourselves organised early by 6.00am Greg and I ventured out for a cup of tea and a bit of fruit in the hotel dining room, then waited around for the check in counter to open before heading up to level 4 to check in for our flights. Check-in was a super smooth process, and after passing through immigration, we were soon sitting in the Adani Business lounge having breakfast and waiting to board our flight. Singapore Airlines don’t have a Business Lounge in Mumbai, but they have a partner lounge - Adani which while modest in appearance, had a good array of food available.
