Day 8: Wed 12 Nov 25 - Taloshi to Harliharleshwar
Wed 12 Nov 25 - Taloshi to Harliharleshwar
Distance: 79.5 km | Ride Time: 4h 32m | Overnight: Hariharieshwar (Tranquil Beach Resort)
After breakfast at 7:00am, we rode away 40 minutes later along the quiet backroad on a foggy morning. 5 km later we entered the busy morning streets of Mahad before passing out the other side along some very rough roads. Another interesting day in the saddle today, heading towards the coast, following the undulating road along the Savitri River to the Tranquil Beach Resort near Harliharleshwar. Today was another tough day in the saddle with hot conditions and more climbing than yesterday. The 6km climb from the 55km point was particularly tough. Today we saw lots of interesting sights including rice being harvested, far too many mangy dogs, monkeys, cattle and buffaloes. It was much more pleasant riding along the quiet country roads and observing people going about their daily lives in the remote Indian countryside. It was a late arrival at our overnight destination, and while this resort looks and feel much more like a resort, unfortunately we are not staying long enough to enjoy it, as we have any early departure at 0630 tomorrow morning for our next destination.
